VINTAGE PEACOCK CHAIR AND MOROCCAN RUG

About four years ago, I walked away from a pair of peacock chairs from Salvation Army. I think they were around $9.99 each. It's been one of my thrifty regrets for not getting them. I was living in a loft in downtown LA at the time so I didn't much room for them. When I went back a couple days later to find them, they had been scooped up by another vintage vulture. But guess what, just the other day, I went thrifting here in NOLA and I saw this baby waving at me. I zeroed in on him and snatched it right up. It also came with a lovely stool. It was more than $9.99 this time around but I wasn't going to let this one slip by me again, especially now that I have so much space. It's sitting in my favorite room for now because it's the one room that's most put together. It's getting a bit jungalow up in here, yes? Perfect timing for the arrival of Queen Jungalow. You heard that right, I am picking up Justina in a few hours. She's staying here for a couple days! It's gonna be fabulous. Anyway, the heartmate thinks it's starting to look cluttered with all the plants and I responded with "Your face is lookin' cluttered!" Heh heh heh. I'm thinking I want to paint it yellow or navy? What do you think? It's kinda disappearing with all that white.

Old Brand New • Vintage Moroccan Rug

I also scored this vintage Moroccan rug! We got it for a pretty good deal from a store in Uptown called Discoveries. It was on hold for someone else but they never went back to claim it so they called me back the next day to tell me it was mine! The rug's pretty thick ,and by thick, I mean it's packed with lots of vintage dust and dirt. I suppose that mean there's a whole lot of history in. It's really beautiful and I just love the colors.

And I found these similar looking beauties over at Urban and West Elm!
