Let's finally talk about my new awesome sofa because I'm so madly, deeply in love with it. A couple months ago, I got out of bed after tossing and turning for hours. I hopped online and started browsing for a sofa on Chairish because they have a good inventory of vintage furniture. I was reminiscing about my purple sofa in LA and kind of wanted another one. But I've always wanted a yellow sofa, too so I started looking for both on Chairish. And then this sofa popped up and I knew immediately, it was the one. This sofa gave me butterflies.
The next morning, I told my heartmate that I had found the perfect sofa for us. I showed it to him and I kid you not, he said "That is fucking ugly!" And I said, "Well, too bad. I got it for us already." Bahah! I didn't care. I knew he would love it eventually. Just like how he's suddenly into all brass and gold. I thought the sofa was a Milo Baughman piece, which I came close to getting one about five years ago but another vintage vulture got to it first. I wasn't going to let this one slip away. And I have both colors in one! Winner, winner! I mean, I would've never in my life picked this pattern but it's so fun. And I could always reupholster it one day and it'll still look sexy because the bones are beautiful. It's a custom sofa by Van Dyver-Witt. It was listed at $2100 but we were able to get it down to cover the shipping costs. It took about a month to get here. It really brought life to our big living room.
I think bringing a big and bold design into a space makes it unique. Find a piece that has interesting details and it'll make your room stand out. I'm so glad I got this sofa and guess what, my boo loves it now. What did I say? Yeah, uh huh. I knew he'd come around. And there you go. Go big or go home.
Here are other rad sofas I was also considering and they're still available on Chairish. You can see more of my favorites here. Someone get that Milo Baughman piece! So pretty! Maybe I should get another one and have them face each other in the living room.
