I can’t believe it’s already October! That means it’s time for One Room Challenge! We’re thrilled to be part of it again! It’s a talented bunch and I’m also excited to see more POC designers featured this season! Last fall, we transformed our guesthouse. That was a major undertaking and I’m still recovering from it. This time around we’re not gonna be as ambitious so we don’t end up nearly killing ourselves. I honestly feel like I can do anything after that challenge though. So…you ready for it? Let’s get down to business.

For this One Room Challenge, we are turning one of our bedrooms into an office / library / lounge / guest room! Yep, it’s gonna be a multi-functional space. I know I said I was gonna take it easy and trust me, it’ll be alright. There’s no plumbing involved! The photos above is the room we’re transforming. It’s a boring space with mirror sliding doors on one side, which I hate. I wanna rip out that closet and create a desk area cause she is tired of working on the sofa or in bed! Before I get into all the plans and details, here are all my inspirations. I’m craving bold colors and luxurious textures. Which look is your favorite?

My main inspiration is from the print above by a Vietnamese French painter, Mai Trung Thứ. I found it at a vintage store and I just love everything about it. I’m definitely gravitating towards those colors. We’re about to slaysian this room! Anywho, stay tuned for next week when I reveal all the plans and mood board. And if you’re new here. Hello!
