Friendsgiving with Castlery

My bestie, Han, moved into a Los Angeles loft so I helped dabify her space and threw a friendsgiving / housewarming party for all of us! We are thrilled to partner with Castlery again to celebrate and create new stories for Han in her home. They offer modern furniture that are timeless and beautifully crafted to last. They have a warehouse in Southern California so with their affordable flat rate shipping, everything arrived pretty quickly. Castlery is running a Black Friday sale where you can get up to 40% off selected products, sale runs till Nov 27! Go spruce up your space for holidays and the new year!

Han’s living space has a gorgeous view of the downtown skyline. It’s an open concept, which means we had to create a multi-functional space. And the best way to do that is by dividing the space in half. One for lounging and one for dining / entertaining that doubles into a working from home situation. Han loves a laid-back, neutral vibe so we introduced soft, creamy textures, balanced with earthy wood tones, and black accents.

Since this is all about friendsgiving, let’s start with the dining area. I chose the Miles extendable dining table which is a beautiful mid-century piece made of solid acacia wood that has been white washed to give it a lighter tone. And to add contrast, I chose the Edith cane chairs in black and Newport dining chairs. These chairs are pretty solid. The craftsmanship on these pieces are such high quality that they’re built to last. To define the space even more, I placed the Yara jute striped rug underneath.

For the tablescape, I started by layering a sage colored cheesecloth runner. Then, lined up five small arrangements I created in bud vases. The flowers were from a local grocery store. I sprinkled the table with some grapes and persimmons. I love mixing edibles and florals together. And then I found these scalloped napkins on etsy to add floral patterns to the mix. All these fun pops of color and patterns work perfectly with the versatile, modern pieces from Castlery. Art by Nancy Ramirez.

Artificial lighting was tricky in her space, because there was none, so I hung my Sang light plug-in sconce from Mitzi to brighten up this corner.

Now for the lounge area, we picked out the Lucia cane sofa. It has a laid-back sophisticated style that Han really wanted for her space. It’s super comfy, too. Continuing with the neutral vibes, we picked out the Harper sideboard to add a focal point. I love the oval shaped and tambour doors detailing. This is a piece she said she will keep forever. It’s definitely a special one. And then I leaned one of my new artworks on it. For extra seating, we placed the Paloma boucle armchair in the corner. To add height and greenery in the room, we put a dracaena and white bird of paradise in both corners.

And that’s pretty much how we brought the space together. Han is beyond excited with how beautiful the space turned out with the help of Castlery. It’s also super functional and feels lived in already. She can’t wait to continue making this space her own along with her two furry babies.

Don’t forget that Castlery is running a Black Friday sale where you can get up to 40% off selected products, sale runs till November 27!
