Decorating with Shutterfly
I finally got around to printing some of my favorite fleeting moments from Morocco. What I love about using Shutterfly is they take the hassle out of printing, matting, and framing. Simply upload a hi-res photo and customize a home décor product in no time. It really is that easy. Not only can you order prints, you can get super creative with custom home decor pieces like pillows, ceramic tiles, or even fleece blankets.
I always tell all my clients that one of the easiest ways to make a space feel more personal is to hang up art or photos you’ve taken. For one of our guest bedrooms, I picked out two framed prints from Shutterfly. One of them is a blue wall from Fez and the other is a blush and botanical moment I snapped at the BE riad in Marrakech. The white frame looks great against the green (Sherwin Williams – Parisian Patina). I typically like to hang artwork above the bed or headboard but since there’s a window behind the bed, the only place to add art would be above the nightstands.
I’ve always loved the look of a framed canvas so I was excited to see that Shutterfly also offers it as a custom printing option. They did such a great job with the print and frame. It looks like a painting! I chose their largest size (24 x 36) of this stunning tile work I snapped in the medina in Fez. It was the morning of Ramadan so it was very quiet with no one around.
Morocco not only has the prettiest tiles in the world but their door game is on point, too. This photo I took of a blue door in Marrakech is so unique and awesome. It looked like a pattern so I decided to personalize a pillow from Shutterfly with this picture and I’m pretty into it. I’m impressed by the quality of the pillow too. It came out looking so rad and it’s really soft. I also tossed in a couple Berber pillows and a pom pom blanket I got during the trip.
Another highlight of my trip was riding a camel in the Sahara Desert during sunset. We got our group photo taken so I wanted to cherish this moment. Shutterfly also offers a unique way of printing on ceramic tiles, which I’ve never seen before. It’s such a cool way to display your favorite moments. And since Morocco was all about tiles, I thought it would be very appropriate.
I love how everything turned out and I’m excited to create more custom pieces. And guess what, guys?! Shutterfly is having a huge promotion right now where you can save 50% on everything! Hurry on over and start decorating with Shutterfly! Sale ends September 5.
