Tuesday Morning Ode to Forgotten Spaces

Slowly but surely, we’re getting around to giving a little extra love to every room in our home. That said, some spaces have sadly been a bit more neglected than others! One of the last nooks in need of a mini makeover is our guest bathroom.

Lately so much of our energy has gone into turning our master guest bath and guesthouse into an oasis. Because of that, we can’t go as crazy as we might like in our guest bath — but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to give it a fresh look without blowing our budget. So when Tuesday Morning wanted to partner with me for an “Ode To Forgotten Spaces” campaign, it was clear exactly where and how I could do a little refreshing.

As a proud deal-finder, I’ve long been aware of the fact that Tuesday Morning offers a range of affordable home décor (and more!) pieces, including some of my favorite name brands.

Our guest bathroom was a bit grim before because it had no windows, so we decided to install a skylight when we got a new roof this summer. And what a major difference it makes! Textiles are also one of the easiest ways to add color into a room without spending a lot or doing any major renovations, and I knew I could find some great towels and bath mats from Tuesday Morning that would add both color and texture. I stuck with earth tones (blues, greens, and browns) because they are so versatile and that palette also works with the rest of the décor in our home.

Another small improvement I did to make a big difference is the shower curtain. To add height, I actually used a 96-inch window curtain. It gives a sense of drama and also makes the space feel so much taller — and it’s something that anyone can do to really change the feel of a space with little effort and not a lot of money. Finally, I also opted to swap out the old, outdated lighting fixture for a new one. This is one of my favorite ways to make a room look more expensive and modern instantly! It’s a small switch-up that truly makes a big difference.

I know that there’s a ton of people out there who dream of refreshing a room (or several) in their home but feel like it’s totally out of the budget — and believe me, I’ve been there! That’s what’s so sweet about shopping at places like Tuesday Morning. With a little creativity and the right tips, you can satisfy that urge while keeping money in your pocket for other necessities. And feeling good about the space you live in is so worth that little extra bit of love.
