INSPIRATIONS FOR THE LIVING ROOM

Welcome to the new OLD BRAND NEW! It feels great to be on this new space. It's inspiring me to blog more. Let's bring blogging back, yeah? What's that you say? You want two posts a day? DONE. Ha.

Before we moved into the new house, I taught my heartmate how to use pinterest. We share a secret board for decorating the new house and he's been pinning things furiously ever since. It's very cute.

Noir is what I have in mind for all the window trims in the house. I love the contrast it brings to the space. It's sophisticated. I'm definitely upping my game for this home. My heartmate's very reluctant to have anything painted black so I have to pick out something on the navy and charcoal spectrum which I'm totally okay with.

The main challenge in this house is the big living room. We're gonna work on it first. Nobody wants to walk into a big empty living room. Oh no no no.

My heartmate's style is very eclectic and when I say very, I mean he pretty much loves everything. And that's great because he usually agrees with what I like but there are times when he'll pick out something and then I have to give him the side stink eye. He has a good eye, it just needs to be refined a bit

I want the living to be eclectic with more traditional than modern pieces. Mixing brass and earthy tones. I won't go too crazy with plants in here. That'll be saved for the family room. Maybe just one ficus tree with a couple potted plants. I really like the layered rugs from the Boerum shop above, designed by Partners & Spade. It'll be easier to find smaller rugs than one really big one. I'm so excited! I'm seriously up til 1am in bed pinning things because I have so many ideas and I want everything now!

Anyway, that's all for now. Have a fantastic weekend, my vintage vultures! And don't forget to update your feeds and bookmarks to this new site!
